Cancel Submit. Praseetha K. Hi Utilitarian, You may try the following steps and check. Step 1: Make sure that you don't have the mouse pointer set to hide when you are typing. Step 2: You may try to uninstall the touchpad drivers and try installing the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website and check. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Once you open the settings, you can choose the touchpad and click Disable. Depending on what type of touchpad hardware you have, the process may be slightly different for disabling it. You can always try the Control Panel and go to Mouse or Touchpad if that option is there. Go ahead and update your graphics card drivers and see if that makes any difference with the cursor jumping around everywhere.
You might get lucky if nothing else has worked till now. Some people have a problem where every time their finger brushes against the touchpad, it jumps to a different part of the screen.
This could be caused by the tap to click option on some touchpads. Double click on the touchpad icon on your system tray, try to find something related to Pointer Options , then Advanced , then something called Enable Tap. Also is there anyway to adjust touchfreeze? The problem is better with Touch Freeze but not fixed.
I have a Dell Inspiron It never, ever, goes where I place the cursor, even after several attempts. Frustrating, incredibly! Try turning off tapping. Also install the Synaptic driver from your laptop's manufacturer's website, and turn off tapping. This problem is present in Linux too, and I get around it with turning off tapping - but with a different method.

GOD Bless you. Was driving me mad but now fixed - tried everything removing all usb devices. Disabling stuff in services and clearing memory etc bios fixed worked!
